Dinesh has lived with his family in Maidstone for 17 years and in High Street ward for 9 of those years. He is a food technologist working with a local supplier.
He is a member of the Advisory Committee for the Maidstone Community Mela and the Independent Police Advisory group relating to the Community. He is a Trustee of Collis Millennium Green Trust and helps run the Gurkha Boxing Club, open to all young people in Maidstone.
Dinesh says, "Traffic congestion and air pollution are a major concern affecting our Town Centre environment. With the increasing number of houses demanded by Government, the population of our Ward and Town Centre is raising serious concerns in relation to availability of local GP and other health facilities and the social and other infrastructure needed to support the changes. The maintenance of our green spaces and play areas, such as Mote Park, South Park and Collis Field will also be one of my priorities."
He further commented, "Having worked with the local Lib Dems in High Street ward for many years, I am delighted to have been selected to stand for the Borough Council on the 2nd May following Fran Wilson's decision to stand down as ward Councillor and leader of the Borough Council after a long and excellent record of service to local residents. If elected dealing with residents' concerns and problems will be my number one priority."
