Outrage as Tory candidate admits she won't be a full time MP and will claim second home allowances

The Conservative candidate for Maidstone and the Weald, Helen Grant, admitted at a recent hustings that she would claim allowances for a second home and would keep her second job if she was elected as MP next Thursday.

The hustings was organised by the Kent Messenger.

Lib Dem candidate Peter Carroll said:

"Local people are rightly furious. Maidstone and the Weald deserves a full time MP. Mrs Grant should commute like so many other people have to do.

"If elected I have committed that I will not claim any second home allowances and will be a full time MP."
