Keep Full Maternity in Maidstone - Campaign Update

A big thank you to all that have signed the Keep Full Maternity in Maidstone Petition and/or supported the Facebook Group - Keep Full Maternity in Maidstone.

Lib Dem Peter Carroll, who organized the delegation to hand in the petition at the door of Number 10 said, 'Over 20,000 signatures were handed in. As well as that, we handed in not one, but two letters. The first was to Gordon Brown himself asking him to pressure the Secretary of State for Health Andy Burnham MP to force the local health chiefs to reconsider this disastrous decision. The second was to Mrs Brown asking her to look at the Keep Full Maternity in Maidstone Facebook site and relay to her husband the strength of feeling on this issue. I am continuing to fight to get a meeting with Mr Burnham so that we can set out our case face to face'.
