Peter Carroll reports back to Coxheath and Hunton on the Campaign to save Maidstone's Full Maternity unit

2.42.00pm GMT Wed 18th Nov 2009

Peter Carroll's campaign to Keep Full Maternity in Maidstone has received very strong support from across the Coxheath and Hunton Ward. Cllr Brian Mortimer said, "Hundreds of people from our area have signed Peter's petition and sent it back. I know from talking to local people that they just don't accept that our County Town should have this vital service downgraded."

Cllr Colin Parr (pictured) said, "You only have to read the postings on Peter's facebook site to see how so many mums are against this. There is story after story about mums unexpectedly needing full consultant support."

Peter is hoping to secure a meeting with the Health Secretary within weeks to put the case to have the decision to downgrade reversed.
