spring clean in Hunton

Local Lib Dems have initiated a 'Big Spring Clean' in woodland off Hunton Hill near Coxheath. The Coxheath and Hunton Liberal Democrat Councillors accompanied by local campaigner Moira Walter and other locals spent Saturday morning clearing dumped tyres, traffic cones, building trade debris and litter from picturesque woodland flanking Hunton Hill.

This rubbish was removed just in the nick of time, as entombed beneath the man-made mess were a carpet of yellowing, light-starved wood anemone and bluebell - which should now all get their chance to flower and illuminate the woodland-floor this Spring.

Some of the trade waste dumped in the woodland was too heavy to move, so locations were carefully plotted and Maidstone Council staff contacted and requested to come in to clean up the site.
