Ian Chittenden is leading the fight to get a new children's centre

Our Conservative-run County Council is attempting to block plans for a new Children's Centre and a Community Hall.

This was a project very important to local Councillor Margaret Featherstone and one she was working on right up to her death in April.

The perfect place to put these facilities would be in Albert Street - but the County Council says that it needs this site for staff car parking!

"We desperately need more community facilities in Maidstone to benefit everyone." Says local Lib Dem, Ian Chittenden. "I will continue to press for this facility and hope that the Tories will get their priorities straight."
