threat to green fields

Ian discusses local development application with East Ward Borough Councillor, Patrick Sellar

Local Liberal Democrats continue to battle hard against the development threat to our local countryside. The major threat remains the KIG proposal for a massive road and rail depot and warehousing near Bearsted.

Liberal Democrat candidate for the Maidstone North East Division by-election says, "Local Liberal Democrat councillors have consistently and powerfully campaigned for much tougher countryside protection policies within Maidstone Council's Core Strategy development document. Now that Liberal Democrats are back in charge at Maidstone Council the protection of our environment, countryside and wildlife is once again being given the highest priority. If elected I will work closely with all residents and my Liberal Democrat colleagues to ensure long term protection of our remarkably beautiful and wildlife rich countryside."
