Studio Application puts Green Wedge at Risk11.12.00am GMT Fri 16th Mar 2007
In November last year, East Ward Liberal Democrats advised you of a planning application for the development of 142 dwellings on the Maidstone Studios site. This was subsequently withdrawn, but a new application for the same number with only minor amendments has now been submitted as details below. We object to the application not only because 4 storey buildings are totally out of Keeping with the area but because of the precedence it will set for future development on adjacent properties and the risk of development on the school playing fields. Important Notice It should be noted that the views expressed in this news story are those of the named councillors and of East Ward Liberal Democrats and, whilst constituting a strong strand of opinion, they do not commit members of the Borough Planning Committee to a course of action. Members of the Planning Committee will, at the time of determination, weigh ALL of the evidence put before them before forming an opinion. This is a requirement of government codes of practice and will be strictly adhered to and applies to all political parties.
