Following a slight increase in the number break-ins to sheds, garages and other outbuildings, police are offering the following advice:

  • sheds, garages and outbuildings should always be properly secured with a good quality lock and where possible, an alarm

  • any property kept in outbuildings should be security marked with the owner's house number and postcode and details of specific makes, models, serial numbers should be recorded and stored safely

  • for larger and more distinctive items, it is useful to take photographs to make any future identification easier

  • Lets stop crime together

  • consider installing security lighting in unusually dark areas.
