Traffic Calming in Coxheath

April 5, 2007 10:47 AM

coxheathResidents have been contacting Councillor Brian Mortimer and Councillor John Williams to express their concerns with the traffic calming along Heath Road, Coxheath.

Both Brian and John recognise that the speed of traffic through Coxheath is a major problem, but neither of them support the way this particular scheme has been implemented by Kent County Council.

The traffic calming scheme being constructed by Kent County Council is the result of months of consultation, and residents and businesses in Coxheath were invited to have their say. It is quite clear that not all views expressed have been taken seriously by Kent County Council. To date there have been three accidents and many near misses. A letter has been sent to Kent Highways, outlining the many concerns. We will, of course, let you know their response.

Just to rub salt in the wound - the broken speed indicator sign on Heath Road was reported to Kent County Council back in November 2006. It has still not been repaired!
